How to host a trivia night
Choose the rounds, print an answer sheet for each team, and keep the answer key with the host.

Choose the rounds
Pick different subjects so one specialist does not decide every round. Read every question and its source before the event. Remove a question if the wording could accept two conflicting answers.
Set the scoring rule
Announce the points per question, how you will handle spelling, and whether partial credit is available. Apply the same rule to every team.
Prepare the room
Give each team a writing surface and answer sheet. Keep the key away from the shared display. Let people participate as writers, readers or discussants.
Read, repeat, then close the round
Read the question without revealing the answer. Offer a repeat. Tell teams when the round closes before collecting sheets.
Resolve a tie
Use the prepared tie-break question. For a nearest-number question, compare absolute distance from the answer; if equal, keep the tie or use another question.
