Offside

Welcome back. This next section is for offside. The letter O and burnout stands for offside. Quick review, what is burnout, the state of emotional physical and mental exhaustion that’s caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It happens when you were overwhelmed, emotionally and physically drained, and you’re unable to meet the demands of life. And it’s not a fun place to be. I’ve been there. I don’t want you to be burned out either. But if you’re burned out right now, I hope that these lessons are giving you some insight as to what led to your burnout and then, more importantly, how we can start navigating around it and get you back to your normal jovial state. offside. I’m a huge sports fan. I love All kinds of sports grown over the years. Obviously, my first love was baseball. My original career as a public accountant was because of baseball cards. I bought a pack of baseball cards and looked at the back of the card and saw the statistics and try to figure out how they came up with those numbers. And once I was able to do that, that became a passion of mine and a pretty decent career in public accounting before I switch to the next adventure in my life, but it’s a foundation that has still to this day, you know, things that use so I’m very thankful for that. But I also love basketball and football and in hockey. Let me clarify American football and hockey and football also known in North America as soccer. I’m actually over the last few years have really gotten involved in and watching a lot of traditional football across the world either English Premier League Champions League, the league You know, there’s a lot of them I’m getting fully vested in in what’s going on in those particular leagues because I enjoyed the excitement. And it’s, it’s been something that I kind of regret that I didn’t like it before. But you can always catch up and enjoy things. But in every sport, there’s either out of bounds offside, something along those lines. And when you do that, the play stops, the game stops when you’re outside, okay, we got to reset and start playing again. In life, many of us are off site as well. We got stress coming at us from all different angles, work stress, home stress, family stress, maybe parents or kids stress, financial stress, health, stress, pandemic stress, all these things take a toll on all of us. Because it’s coming at us from every direction. And for many of us, especially if you’re really stressed out over a long period of time or burned out, it’s overwhelming and you really don’t know where to turn. You don’t know what to do You have no idea how to even react to it anymore, you almost become numb to it, which is no state to be in because if you’re not feeling that, then you’re not feeling anything, which is really bad because you could have some health problems that you’re unaware of, because you can’t mentally or physically grasp what you’re feeling at this particular moment in time. How do you get offsides in life? Well, bad choices for one. If you’re not taking care of yourself from a physical or mental standpoint, it’s gonna take a toll on you. Whether it’s not eating properly, watching too much negativity in news and social media and all of that is a huge problem that can lead to it. not spending your time wisely. And we’re going to talk about time in a future section. But here, I want to highlight that we all get the same 24 hours a day and how we spend that time will make or break us as far as our self care and our health and our ability to grow in life, both from a career standpoint, but also personally, if we don’t spend our time wisely, it’s going to catch up to you. And it can really create havoc in a lot of different things when you’re offside, but you’re also burned out. It’s actually much worse. Because as I said before, you almost become numb to it and you don’t feel yourself and you can’t make clear decisions. You can’t do things. You make mistakes, you’re irritable with people, you don’t like life anymore, and it can really be problematic for you and those that you work with and those that you love you Your behaviors and your thoughts and your choices that you make in life definitely plays a big part in a burned out state.
