Hello there, nice to see you again. So for this lesson, I’ve used the word focus throughout this course. And I want to clarify some understandings because there’s a connotation to that word focus. And as you’ve maybe had a inkling of in this course, this is kind of the do nothing approach, the easy approach, where we’re not really relying on effort in for me, we’re not when I say the word focus, there’s like an attachment of, of efforts of like, rather than focusing on like willing yourself to stop focusing on that and start focusing on this. So I’d like to move away from that definition of focus and move towards a more Yin definition. So that’s like a Yang power control the focus Hear is more of a of a een definition of focus, where you kind of the focus moves of its own. So rather than focusing and trying to control our experience, what we can say is that we actually giving up by giving up. So in the context of imagination and sensations, were giving up the focus the attention, on imagination, on thoughts. So by giving up, we’re not trying to change you actually, we’re just giving it up. We’re withdrawing from it, which is different to trying to control it and trying to exert our will upon it, because we’re not exerting I will, we’re actually withdrawing our wealth where because from my own experiences, the more I tried To change it to doesn’t really help. Instead, what has helped is when I withdraw our attention from it, when I give up, and I know or like now society giving up or giving up, why would you give up? No, this is a different approach to it is giving up. But it’s giving up something that doesn’t serve you. It’s giving up out of humility and out of understanding your weaknesses. So, that’s the kind of giving up so we’re giving up attention. And we’re just kind of, I don’t know, I’ll try to kind of explain it, hopefully work out. So let’s say I’m trapped in thinking, Okay, so I noticed that rather than shifting my focus on to the sensations through force and exertional willpower, I just, I just sort of give up. I just saw that notice it and give it up. And then obviously Are the attention will then drift to the sensations because you’re giving up by giving up that that point of Attention, attention of its own moves to sensations. So I am not doing anything, actually, it’s all happening automatically, spontaneously of its earn. I’m just giving up. So it’s a really easy approach. That’s why it’s called easy. Yes possible approach because it is really easy. The thing is that it can be difficult. The to lead up to it can be difficult, but it’s actually a momentary, very easy, spontaneous occurrence. The difficulty comes from resistance, from doubt from confusion. That’s where that’s where the difficulty comes from. The process itself is very easy, very straightforward, very simple. So I want to clarify that because if it is difficult for you, then that’s fine. Just that’s just how it is. That’s just how it is no point trying to do anything about it. Because that’s just how it is. But recognize that difficulty is arising from resistance, confusion, doubt, not from the actual process itself, which remains easy, which remains simple, which remains very straightforward. It’s just about helping that willingness, patiently awaiting that willingness to arise of its own. And it’s not something that we can exert and push and Yang our way. Instead, we actually if we want it to arise, rather than pushing it, the best way to help these things arise of that earn is to withdraw, to give up to, to position ourselves, to be aware of our weaknesses, see that I kind of think I’ve mentioned this before, but If willpower could have done it, it already would have if we were already capable of fixing our problems we already would have, right? So given that we haven’t, we’re not. So we come at it with humility, we see our weaknesses. And these are all in the decisions. These are all spontaneous occurrences. There’s really nothing to it. And if it doesn’t happen now, that might happen tomorrow. That’s happened tomorrow might happen off tomorrow. Again, there’s no really, you can’t really control it. You can help it arise by letting go of trying to control it. So it might seem like a paradox. But that’s how it is. If you want to help it arise, you got to let it go. Let everything just if you’re able to just like that, just let everything be as it is. Sit back, let everything be as it is. Don’t worry about thoughts. Don’t worry about trying to configure any stories trying to figure anything out, just let everything be as it is that simple, then this will all occur on its own. Because just by hearing these things, then it’s already starting to shift around things and you’re starting to see things differently, you’re starting to see things more aligned with how they are rather than how they have been imagined. So really, this caused a lot of the power is just in hearing some of these principles I’m speaking about. And by hearing them when you hear them, there’s gonna be decisions that are made. You’re going to decide to listen, you’re going to search not listening on the site to be skeptical, even in the sight of doubt. You’re going inside to have faith on a site to trust. There’s going to be all these decisions made. And you’re going to have to make a decision one way or another. But again, it’s not really you making the decisions the decisions are current or him That’s really all there is to it. This is really easy. It’s really easy just like our guy with a flower. Let it all happen, let it all be as it is. That’s literally the course is just expanding on that and taking lots of different angles at it so that we can help that recognition arise. That aha moment. Okay? Remember, we’re increasing the likelihood of that aha moment coming about. You can say by increasing the surface area, our attention is exposed to like, looking at it from lots of different angles. Maybe this angle doesn’t help for one person, but maybe that angle does help for another. And that’s, that’s what I’m doing as a as the instructor in this course. That’s, that’s my responsibility and that’s what I’m trying to do here. Okay, sir. That’s, that’s the Yin approach. It’s to do nothing. I think things be not resisting but being with their resistance. So not resisting resistance if it comes up, allowing it to be there, doing nothing about it, just letting it pass on its own. And I wonder also just point out that if it is difficult, you know, our culture isn’t really positioned in this way. Our culture is a Yang culture, willpower to do lists, that’s our culture. So there’s a lot of programs, their social programs conditions, which might make it difficult. And I will highlight another source of mine at the end called psych k that can help with that. But I just want to highlight that it’s okay if it is difficult, it’s okay. Because if it wasn’t difficult Then it wouldn’t be and if it is, then it is, is our point trying to judge it or anything? It just is however it is for you. And that’s it. There’s no need to make any commentary about it. They’ll say anything about it. However it is however it is. Okay, I’ll see you in the next lesson.
