Autodesk Revit – For the Beginner user, bringing them right up to an intermediate level!

First, I will guide you through the install process, ensuring you have installed the correct library and region template. I will be using the UK Metric library and templates but don’t worry if you want to use another. All the processes will be the same and if I use a component from the UK library that isn’t available in your library, I will always suggest one for you.

As with BIM you work solely on one single project, so I have constructed this course in the same way.

If you do not have previous experience with Revit or any CAD based software, don’t worry. I will start off from the beginning building you up to be more than capable at creating your own Revit models.

The course will start off by giving a brief introduction to the fundamentals of a building, what is BIM an then moving onto the basics of Revit; from the terminology which Revit uses to the tools and interface.

We will then begin to build on our project, introducing a new tool and feature as we progress.

Adding in the datum elements, such as the levels and grids.

Structural components, such as the Structural and Architectural columns

Major and Minor Components like the; walls, windows, doors, floors, stairs, ceilings, curtain walls and roofs.

We will then take it to the next level and learn how to create 2D details, how to tag the components, create schedules & legends, creating render images and video walk-throughs.

Finally, we will set up our sheets and send it to print.

Alongside the videos I have supplied you with course notes to follow along with as well as some files to work with.

As a recap, I have added a quiz to every section. This won’t affect your final certificate but will refresh what you have just learnt.

Once you complete the course why not test out your new skills by taking the final exam, consisting of 40 questions!

Finally, I continually update this course to keep it up to date with the new releases as well as adding new videos.

I look forward to seeing you in class!

This course it’s designed for teaching you how to create construction simulations, using several tools from the Autodesk Suite.

BIM it’s on a deep expansion for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Industry so each time more and more projects are developed over this methodology changing the quality standards for construction and design.

In this case Construction Simulations are the tool we are to explore because they can communicate directly and graphically with everybody

First set of Simulations go working with a normal typical Workflow between Revit and Navisworks, linking tasks with selection sets or by parameters, that can lead to a general decision taking.

Second Set uses Dynamo as an engine for time scheduling development, to get all activities and objects synchronized and then visualize them on Navisworks or on 3d Max.

And Third Set uses 3d Max as a tool for coding animations with their own engine synchronized with the Revit Model and the Dynamo Outputs to create stunning results.

This course goes from scratch with construction simulations but it requaries that students know how to model, and have basic skills with dynamo, so they can develop further tools to their own interest.

The course has one single exercise to be follow up and send it by each single type of simulation.

The materials include the scripts saw on the course plus the Custom Nodes created specifically for it.

Are you tired of taking courses that go to fast with a lot of content? Don’t worry go at your own pace, jump between sections for certain topics, the access is for lifetime.

Also, we have a direct response for any topic listed, so we can improve the content.

From zero to Autodesk professional!

This course will cover everything you need to know about Revit with many easy and practical tutorials. Learn to design and build an architectural project from scratch in Autodesk Revit, if you are interested in automated drawing, design, architecture this is the right course for you!

The course 'Autodesk Revit Bim training' is based on my personal experience as an Autodesk Authorized Instructor, it starts with a preliminary tutorial so that you can become familiar with the graphic interface of the program Autodesk Revit Architecture, then we will learn how to set up a project from scratch, establish structural grid lines and reference lines and start setting up structural columns.

The next step will be installing walls, control their wall assembly and learn how to customize elements, you will learn how to use the curtain wall tool and how to create slabs and stairs.

A whole tutorial is focused on roofs, how to build them and give the proper slope. Later you will learn how to use of the area command which will allow you to generate quickly and effectively area calculation for your project and how to generate schedules and area takeoffs.

Modelling a terrain, a classical complex task with other software, such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max or Rhino is made very easy by Revit, you'll see!

At the end of the course we will examine how to develop details to go with our construction document and you will learn how to create a parametric 3d component, the so-called “Revit families"

Post Scriptum: I originally recorded the tutorials in Italian and then asked Alessandro, a friend of mine who lives in the States, to translate them in English, so don't be surprised when you'll hear a very manly voice speaking!

Have fun! and learn well!

Revit a very complete option thanks to its annual updates and with this course you will discover the advantages of designing in BIM (Building Information Modeling) in the current work environment with this BIM software developed by Autodesk.

Revit has a design aimed mainly at the construction and administration of construction-related data such as the materials to be used in a wall or the capacities they have to support structural loads.

The information stored in the walls, floors, ceilings, among others, are used in Revit for the tables used to budget a project which are called quantification tables. These are also use in order to review the information delivered by the suppliers of construction materials since Revit stores information such as kilowatts and others specific to a specialty.

Revit allows analytical studies of structures to identify areas of risk before starting with the structural calculations, as well as solar studies for architectural design.

Making use of the tools that the software has, we can make presentations for the projects carried out in Revit through videos and slides that can be presented to different people while working on an educational or work project.

During the course we will create together a complete project from scratch using exercises that are always explained using an example that guides you step by step. To take this course you do not need previous knowledge of BIM or Revit. In addition, this course is created with the latest version of Revit, although there is no problem if you decide to follow the course with an earlier version of Revit you will be able to follow it perfectly.

At any time during the course you will be able to download the exercises and files used in each lesson in order to continue studying in depth other options of the software.

Revit to IFC: An Export Guide

Learn how to successfully export your Autodesk Revit model to Industry Foundations Classes (IFC)

Been asked to export IFC files to facilitate coordination on a construction project? Or maybe you are required to provide model based data for asset register.

In this course we'll look at how to successful export an Autodesk® Revit® 2022 model to Industry Foundation Classes....or IFC. Often on construction projects, where 3D models are to be exchanged between organisations, the quality of models exchanged when using IFC are inconsistent, non-compliant and are often to the detriment of the project rather than beneficial.

In this course we'll explore the IFC schema and how it is structured. We'll then go and look at how to set up and export your Revit models so that they comply with this schema and ensure that the correct information and geometry is included as part of the exchange.

Autodesk Revit 2021 Complete Beginners Guide

Learn to use the Revit BIM Software

Students: 389, Price:  Paid

This course is aimed at those with absolutely no prior experience in Autodesk Revit. It is also helpful to those who may have tried to learn the software in the past but forgotten how to use it.

The course is designed to get you up & running with Revit quickly by teaching you the things you need to know without long-winded explanations of techniques and commands that are no longer used. It's recorded using Revit 2021 but can be used to learn any version of Revit from 2018.

As a CAD engineer with over 25 years of industry experience, I have taught many people to use  various CAD software over the years. I still use CAD software every day on major engineering projects and am shocked when I see the items still being taught in schools, books, and other online courses.

You do not need to enroll on a 2-year course, read a 500-page book or enroll on an online course that is over 15 hours long. Much of this is padding to make the course look more comprehensive by teaching commands that nobody actually uses in the workplace.

Revit can have a reputation of being complicated but much of this is down to the fact that so many are teaching out of date techniques. Also, many of the teaching materials insist on beginning the course by explaining what every single button and command does which is unnecessary and tedious. Other courses like to start each chapter with a new example and this constant restarting means the student never produces anything substantial and easily gets bored.

Over the years I have refined my method of teaching CAD software so that I only teach the techniques that are required and none of the outdated methods that you will never need. My method of teaching is not just to describe each command separately but to get the student up and running early in the course creating a realistic project. This project will grow as different commands are introduced and in this way the student can see clearly how the different techniques are actually used rather than just copying small examples.

You will begin the course with a description of a project and learn how to create your own building model which will be added to and refined as your knowledge grows and new commands are introduced. By the end of this course, you will have produced a fully complete 3D building model to a standard that would be acceptable in any workplace. You will learn BIM techniques that will allow automatic production of schedules and documentation.

Throughout the course I am available should you get stuck to answer any questions you may have.

I look forward to introducing you to this software and getting you up and running quickly.

**Please Note: This course was recorded on the PC version of Revit. If you use a MAC then the commands and locations may vary. I do not have a MAC so am unable to help with this but a quick Google search should help you.**
