No other online piano course offers such a detailed and complete overview of scales and chords.

With the clickable index, you’re never more than only one click away from the piano chords or scales you were looking for.

(This new section could actually be a whole course on its own, but is just included in this piano course!)

You want to play your favorite song by ear, without having sheet music, chords or melody?

After this new 2.5-hour section you will be able to sit at the piano and play any song, just by listening attentively, derive chords and melody and then play the song, by ear!

Surprise everyone playing any song on the piano with this amazing technique!

The way the course is created, with lots of songs and easy explanations of every detail, means that you will advance rapidly every day.

At a very early stage, you will already apply what you’ve learned and start playing songs. First playing the melody with your right hand, later also adding your left hand.

And what makes it a real pleasure to practice, is that you play a song together with a band that accompanies you while you are playing on your piano or electronic keyboard.

This is what others say about the course:

This piano course is extremely educational and highly entertaining as well. For beginners specially, Mr. Cohen didn't raise the bar of excellence, he is the bar simply put. His lectures will start you from know nothing into craving to learn more and highly addictive too. If you are searching over and over to find the right piano lesson for you, your search is over. You found the learning center. Cheers (Rolando Marucut)

This is exactly the course I was looking for. I love piano music since I was a kid, however I never had the opportunity to learn. I am a total beginner, I love the way the teacher explains and shows the most important and key things in order to move forward in any lesson. My dream is closer. Thank you so much! (Daniel Madrid Sanchez)

WOW! This is an amazing course. Thank you very much. Highly recommended. (Stefano Buiaroni)

I really liked the way the course was created, with lots of songs, advices, quizzes. It was a challenge, but with perseverance and with a lot of exercises the results appeared. I think the most pleasant moments were when I played the songs from the course, but by far I think it was when I managed to control both hands independently. It was like a revelation. Now I have the needed tools: scales, chords, improvisation techniques, the rest depends on me, a lot of exercises. (Csizmadia Miklos)

In order to play the piano or keyboard well, you have to practice scales. But only endlessly going up & down the scales is not very fun way of learning the piano or keyboard, that’s why in this course you practice the scales in songs that contain just the notes of that particular scale.

And of course, the band will accompany you in all the songs.

This makes practicing the scales a pleasure!

If you’re still not sure, why not just give it a try? It’s without any risk: if for whatever reason this is not the course for you, you can get a full refund within 30 days after purchase.

So, there’s no need to wait any longer: just hit that ‘enroll’ button and get access to more than 22 hours of video, interactive music theory exercises and to an amazing BONUS: a 110 page ebook with all the scales and chords in all the inversions with finger positions, as well as plenty of other resources (play-along files in different tempos, PDF files with sheet music for every song, …).

It only takes you one click to have access to ALL of this.

Still not convinced?

Just have a look at the promo video and the free preview videos to have an idea of how I teach, and also have a look at the course curriculum.

  • You will apply the theory and skills learned during the lectures in songs that you will play together with a band (play-along mp3 files and MIDI files included). In this way, practicing the notes in the scales becomes a pleasure!

  • Lots of practice files (mp3 and MIDI) in all 12 keys and in several tempos included

  • An ebook included for FREE with ALL the scales and chords in all inversions with finger positions (110 pages!) with clickable index that leads you directly to the scale or chord you were looking for

  • More than 450 downloadable resources! (more than any other piano course)

  • Clear explanations by an experienced teacher (more than 25 years of teaching experience)

If you look at a piano and think, "this is too complicated to learn", this course will hopefully dispel those thoughts.

The piano is much more logical and easier to understand than most people think.

I will teach you...

  • How the piano relates to other instruments
  • How the piano relates to singers

By the end of this course the piano itself, will make a lot more sense!

The Ultimate Piano Chord Course will give you the skills to be able to play thousands of songs.

Most songs are written using chords, so if you understand how to use them properly, you'll be able to play a vast amount of songs by just reading simple chord symbols. You don't need to be able to read music notation in order to play great songs!

This course is for beginners on the Piano, and so starts with the basics, but quickly moves onto learning about the different kinds of chords and how they are constructed, gradually getting more and more advanced as you progress. You don't just learn about chords though. Along the way you will learn about different kinds of rhythms, playing patterns and techniques that can be applied to the chords. By the end you'll be able to play the piano by reading a chord sheet, but sound like a pro!

I believe the best way to learn is by applying your new found knowledge, and so throughout the course you will learn famous songs or chord progressions on the Piano, relevant to the particular chord/rhythm or playing pattern you've just been learning. The course uses examples from songs by a wide variety of artists such as Adele, Sam Smith, The Commodores, Christina Perri, John Legend and Don McLean to name a few.

If you're a singer, by the end of this course you'll be able to pick up and play any piece of music or chord sheet and play piano by following the chord symbols. All you need to do is sing along. I even show you how to print off any song of your choice online for free, as well as showing you how to change the key so it suits your vocal range.

The same goes with anyone wanting to accompany other singers on piano, or people wanting to play Keyboard in a band. This course will give you the skills and understanding to be able to play Piano along with other people.

If you're a songwriter, you'll find that your understanding of chords and playing techniques will be so much greater, and so you'll be able to use what you've learnt to write songs with much more variety and musicianship and freedom.

Even if you just want to enjoy playing the Piano/Keyboard for yourself at home, by the end you'll be able to play a selection of famous songs, and have the skills and ability to print off your own favourite songs and play them by just following the piano chord symbols.

Supporting PDF's

The course also includes PDF's of important chord building info and playing techniques that you can print off and set on your piano/keyboard, which will make it easy to refer to when you start choosing and learning your own favourite songs.

So enroll today, and learn piano the easy way!

This course includes a download of "The Piano Chords eBook for Beginners". This handy guide has 25 pages packed with information on chords, as well as illustrated chord reference charts that serve as a quick and easy reference for anyone wanting to learn about piano chords.

NEW UPDATE - This course also includes a BONUS SECTION on improvisation. Throughout the 30 additional lessons you will learn how you can use your new knowledge of chords to get started improvising with help from a variety of techniques, rhythmic patterns and progressions along the way. You will also get the chance to explore melodies with the use of scales and harmony. By the end of this extra "mini-course" you will have the tools to be able to have fun improvising your own music on the piano!

Jazz Piano - The Ultimate Beginners Course for Piano & Keyboard will get you playing some cool jazz sounds in no time at all!

Most methods of learning Jazz piano don't cater for beginners. This course takes a fresh look at learning jazz by following simple steps that anyone can use.

It starts with the basics, and so you don't need any previous knowledge on the  to be able to follow along. Even if you have learnt piano previously but would be considered a beginner in Jazz, this course is also suitable, as lot's of the methods throughout the course aren't taught in traditional/classical learning environments.

Want to be able to improvise Jazz on the piano?

Throughout the course you will learn specific scales and arpeggio's, and I have designed special exercises that build in difficulty as you progress, ultimately giving you the skills to be able to improvise over the top of classic jazz chord progressions.

Wouldn't it also be cool to be able to understand and play all those complicated jazzy chord symbols on lead/chord sheets?

Using simple and understandable methods, you'll learn all about jazz piano chords, chord extentions, quartal harmony, chord voicings and much more. We even take a look at some lead sheets (sometimes known as fake sheets) so you can see how you can make rich jazz piano sounds by just following chord symbols. You'll also learn about comping, exploring using different rhythms that you'll eventually be able to use with songs of your own choice.

What else?

One of the best ways to truly take on board what you are learning, is to apply it properly, and so throughout the course you will get the chance to learn excerpts from famous jazz songs such as Autumn Leaves (famously covered by Bill Evans), Fly Me to the Moon, Herbie Hancocks Cantaloupe Island and So What by Miles Davis.

I have transcribed the scales/exercises and songs into piano notation for anyone who can read music, but again you don't need to be able to read piano sheet music to take the course as I have written out the names of the notes for those who can't.

Extra help with your learning!

The course comes with supplementary material in the form of PDF's that you can download and print off to have handy at your piano or keyboard. This way it makes it easier to practise the songs/exercises etc by being able to have them up on your music stand, as well as having the lesson info/chord finding methods easily accessible so you can continue to learn jazz piano outside of the course.

So why not enroll today, and learn jazz piano the easy way?!

Piano Chords

"After buying loads of books on piano chords nothing has come close to this excellent course … it has to be the best on Udemy" - Michael Fallon

"Even if you already know your scales and chords, this course brings you through the variations so that you can do more than just play a triad each and every time." - Richard

This course teaches you how to interpret basic chord symbols at the piano, and explains them:

  • at the keyboard
  • in a visual and intuitive way
  • using real pieces of music

I'll teach you concepts using original techniques that I've tested on hundreds of students over a decade, including signed artists and other industry professionals. By the end you'll know many ways of playing any chord symbol that's likely to crop up in popular music. (I'm working on a follow-up course that teaches more advanced chords that you find in jazz.)

What this course is

This course shows you many ways of playing:

  • major triads (e.g. C, Eb, F#)
  • minor triads (e.g. Dm, Fm, G#m)
  • sus chords (e.g. Esus, Gsus, Bbsus)
  • 7th chords (e.g. F#7, Am7, Cmaj7), and
  • slash chords (e.g. Ab/Eb, Bm/E, Dmaj7/E)

so that you can:

  • read a "lead sheet" (a score with a melody and chord symbols but no LH)
  • accompany yourself singing using just chord symbols, and
  • understand how the chord symbols fit a score

I'll show you many ways of playing each chord so that you can not only work out what chord to play but also turn it into a complete accompaniment.

What this course isn't

This course doesn't teach you how to play the piano - it assumes you know how to play the piano already. And the pieces used are mostly extracts that are designed to illustrate certain types of chord, so the goal isn't to play complete pieces but to acquire skills that you can apply to other pieces.

Also, this isn't a music composition course: I don't talk very much about why certain chords sound good together. However, if you are interested in learning about chord progressions this is a good starting point.

In conclusion

So, if you've ever wondered what Dm7/G means then give this course a try! You can always get a refund if you decide it isn't for you.

Best of luck on your musical journey,

"For years I've been wanting to learn the piano, but always postponed it as it seemed so difficult. Half way through this course I was already trying all kind of things out on my piano, and was in shock that it all worked out." Gregory, One of our students.

What will I discover in this course?

  • All the tricks that make you sound great, easily and simply without having to read a dot of music - No confusing notation needed

  • The ability to play every chord commonly used as the building blocks for pop songs.

  • That includes you knowing how to play all the different flavours of chords

  • How to find the information you need about what chords your favourite pop songs are made up of.

  • How to break down that information so you can work out how to play the songs.

  • How to spice up your playing with tips and tricks that make you sound like a pro - quickly

  • I'll explain what arpeggio’s are and how to use them to make you sound really impressive

  • I'll explain what passing notes are to sound super cool

  • And inversions

  • How to use your left hand to make your playing sound more complex and pleasing

  • Access to a chord dictionary that you can use as a lifetime reference

  • Access to tutorials on some classic songs to get you started on your new piano playing journey

  • Just click the link to get started

Shapes and patterns are a fun intuitive way, to get people playing confidently quickly. Most of the worlds music doesn't rely on notation and you don't need to either, this course shows you how to avoid the barriers that so often bog people down when they start learning piano - you need to have fun and have quick successes, playing the songs you love.

Why a shorter course rather than the ones that have 40 hours of content?

Why trust me?

  • 4 record deals,

  • 10 years teaching,

  • 5 years of those on the internet (over 9000 students in total)

  • Cambridge University post grad in Education

  • over 180,000 minutes of tutorials viewed on different platforms

It's pretty clear to me what actually works when explaining things to people. However good our intentions, long courses that offer 40 or 80 hours of instruction just gather digital dust, remaining unwatched, however good your intention is to eventually get around to watching.

What actually works for most people are short bite sized practical courses, that scaffold knowledge. If you want people to really flourish in their piano playing then you help learners discover for themselves the joy of playing the piano as quickly as possible - learning through playing. The words joy and fun are the most important and motivating when learning!

This course is designed to be just long enough to give you exactly the knowledge and confidence beginners need to play what they want to play, yet it is short enough that you can actually complete it (with no filler or rote learning).

Just think for a second about actually being able to play the songs you love on the piano after just an hours practical demonstration. How cool would that would be? Thousands of online students have discovered it really is possible, in just one hour, to learn enough to have a lifetime of fun and enjoyment playing the piano. And you can do it using a completely different approach using shapes and patterns rather than notes and theory.

"I'm more of a pick up and play sorta guy! This course has literally taken me from knowing a few chords (and not remembering them!) to opening up a whole new world of musical possibilities"  Adam

"Making something that appears extremely complicated into something simple and understandable is an art. This course is the first I have ever done that had me hooked from the first minute and Simon is a superb instructor" Gerry

We must be doing something right, It's tough to please people on the internet :)

Best of all we are so confident in the effectiveness of our method that there is a guaranteed 30-day refund if you're not satisfied. Doesn't work then you get your money back no questions asked - I guarantee you'll be too busy playing that song you've always wanted to be able to though

Learn to play the piano really quickly without needing to learn music.

Just Chords Piano is the perfect course for you to take beginners piano lessons with? It teaches you what you need to know to play piano in the way you want to play.

This course is designed to teach an absolute beginner to teach piano using chords and not music. This method of learning piano is perfect if you do not wish to learn music or play any form of classical music.

Type of lessons.

To take this course you download and print a provided textbook. This textbook is used throughout the High Definition video lessons of the course. Each lesson will end with a practice schedule for you to use between lessons.

Why no music?

Almost all songs you will play are played using chords, rather than you playing the melody line, which is how playing with music is usually done. The melody is the job of the singer to do, not the pianist.

You could have no desire to play songs following sheet music. For you, the fun element may be more important than the discipline of learning to read music.

Consequently learning music is irrelevant to you. However this is not to say that music should be completely discarded, you may decide to play piano songs, as quickly as possible now, by using the chord method. You may consider playing by music at a later date.

The chords approach may be seen as a problem by you. You may suspect that if the music is not taught, you could have bad playing habits in the future.

Just Chords Piano only teaches correct musical terminology and techniques throughout all of its lessons.

You will not need to learn music in this course of study as it is unnecessary. You learn everything else properly as you would privately.

The methods you will learn by in this course, are purposely designed, to allow you to learn music at a later date, if you choose to do so, without having to re-learn or even unlearn anything.

How are lessons taught?

You will:

Be taught by piano lessons in video format, thus you will need your device near to your piano or keyboard.
Need to download a workbook and print it as you will need it throughout the course.
Always take lessons sequentially, as they must be taken in order, for you to get the best from the course.
require a pencil to take notes as you progress through the course. Your course book is ideal for this task.
In subsequent lessons your knowledge will be expanded with lessons teaching:

A multitude of chords.
How to play them properly.

  • Playing with two hands.

  • Where to find the chords and words for songs.

  • Methods of interpreting songs.

  • How to use dynamics to improve how your songs sound.

  • Some great introductions to sound great.

  • Turn a-rounds to fill in the gaps.

  • Great song endings.

  • Keeping time.

  • Rhythms.

  • Quality.

I have done everything possible for you, to make your taking of Just Chords Piano lessons, as near as possible to the quality you would receive if you came to me for private lessons.

You always receive personal support from me, Jackie. Consequently, I believed that my support is at least equal to, or better than a private tutor would provide for you.

Student input.

You the student are learning to play the piano. You, therefore, have a responsibility to take the provided lessons in sequence and carry out the practice schedules required of you.

Playing the piano is a practical activity. We get better at doing things by practising them. Olympic athletes become so because they practice.

Taking a lesson without understanding it, or practising what has been learned afterwards, will result in you failing to learn to play.

If you do not understand anything in a lesson, you go over the lesson again, if you still do not understand. Ask for help! Support is all about asking for help. You will need to make a commitment to yourself to practice every day for around 10 minutes. Everyone can find ten minutes a day to achieve a dream.

With Just Chords Piano you will:

Learn to play the piano using chords and no music.
Need to go over again any aspect of a lesson that you don't understand, or ask for help before you continue to the next lesson in the course.
Practice every day for just ten minutes and you will be well on the way to achieving your dream of learning to play the piano using these easy simple piano lessons for beginners.
Be able to play your favourite songs in not time at all. Confident of your abilities as a pianist.

Most songs are played using piano chords, this allows easy playing and singing. The melody is done by the voice, not the piano. So it makes sense to learn piano by playing chords.

The course lessons will teach you the basics properly. You will soon know all the notes of the piano and how to use them to play chords. You will rapidly progress to playing simple tunes. At all times you will be told exactly what to practice so your progress is sound. Within a few months, you will easily be able to play your favourite songs. all you need to do then is be amazed at how you improve by playing them.

Of course, full support is available from Jackie, who will quickly get you back on track.

This is what one student said:

"Great course going really well, easy to learn, never played before, now I can, and still learning started late in life"

And another said:

"This is a very good course and the materials are a great reference, especially for practising offline and using the material to write down chords for songs. I have her book Play Piano with Chords so the course goes well with it. I'm looking forward to continuing the lessons, especially since additional sessions were added so it's even better. Jackie is a very good and patient instructor and this comes across in the lessons. Glad I signed up"

Do you want to learn to play chords on the piano?

For how long you have been  wanting to understand chords and can't advance to more complicated chords?

Can you only play chords that don't have many accidents or black keys?

Welcome to the PIANO CHORDS !! -

In this course you will learn how to play the main types of chords of 3 and 4 notes, but without leaving chords without practicing!

It is very common that when we begin to study chords, especially if we are self-taught, we focus on learning only the chords of our favorite song or those which root is from a white key on the piano, thus developing non-integral learning, with gaps, since we get used to play in our comfort zone which are the "Easy Chords", but -... Are the others really that complicated?

The secret is ..... PROGRESSIVE LEARNING !!

At the end of this course you will be able to play 3- and 4-note chords, with an understanding of the structures and being able to play them from any note.

Through 100% practical tutorial videos you will learn how to build chords, understand how to play them in a technically appropriate way and what are the tips to find and play them faster.

Play Piano Chord Variations: Piano Building Blocks

Welcome to the Piano Building Blocks Series! This course teaches you what to do when you encounter other chords beyond the basic common chords we cover in the first course.

In our first course, Play the 24 Most Common Chords: Piano Building Blocks, we covered the 24 most common chords - the building blocks of all music. Most pop music can be played using those 24 common chords.

In this course, you will learn why a moment in a song will sound beautiful and unique because, instead of a plain major or minor chord, the composer used a "2" chord, or a "sus" chord, or maybe a "dim" chord. If you don't know what those symbols mean, you can't get the exact sound of the song that you were hoping for.

In simple language and easy-to-follow visual examples, you will learn how to play the special additions and variations to major and minor chords that often pop up in music today. You'll also learn how to use these variations to make your own playing style more interesting.

Start here for more intermediate players, or if you're a beginner, combine this course with Play the 24 Most Common Chords: Piano Building Blocks.

This course is designed to teach you to play piano using chords, even if you can't read music. I show you exactly how professional piano players do it; why they don't bother with reading sheet music, and yet are able to play any song easily and quickly, sounding as if they have practiced the song for weeks.

See the simple tricks that I have used as a full-time pianist and keyboardist for the past 40+ years.

Master chord-based Popular Style Piano in a matter of hours

Whether you want to play just for fun, play for friends, at parties, or become a professional, this course will give you information to help you achieve your goals. You will:

  • Learn to use the piano as an accompaniment instrument

  • Learn how to build major chords easily in any key

  • Learn how to create a minor or dominant 7th chord

  • Learn augmented, diminished, suspended and major 7th chords

  • Learn how to play easily with both hands

  • Find out how to read chords from sheet music without reading the notes

  • Learn in two hours what takes years for most

  • Discover the secrets to turn simple, basic chords into beautiful, full-sounding Jazz, Rock, and Gospel chords.

Learn quickly and efficiently how to sound skilled on the piano

If you want to make beautiful music on the piano without years of grueling, expensive lessons, this is the course you want.

I do not teach note-reading in this course. If your goal is to play Beethoven, Bach, or other classical music, this course is not for you. It is a course in popular piano playing.

I spent years taking weekly lessons as a child, studying music in school and college – but when I became a full-time, professional piano player 45 years ago, I discovered that most of what I learned did not apply to what I was trying to do. I wanted to play popular music in night clubs, cabarets, casinos and show rooms. I learned more from working with other professional musicians than I ever did from teachers, either privately or in school.

What I show you in this course are the things that I learned to make music easy, effective and fun. It's how the pros play.

In addition, you have an unconditional,no questions asked, 30 day, money-back guarantee. Nothing at risk!

Jazz Piano Chords – Rich Sounding Jazz Chords for the Piano

All the jazz piano chords that you need to play great jazz on the piano

Students: 1028, Price: $59.99

Students: 1028, Price:  Paid

You always wondered how experienced jazz piano players create those rich sounding jazz chords? This course will teach YOU how to play them on the piano.

Detailed explanation by an experienced teacher (25+ years of experience) makes that you will quickly understand how to form even the most complicated jazz piano chords.

You will be able to play every chord-type that exists in all the inversions possible, in close position and with the notes more spread out, so that with one and the same chord, you can create different emotions, with more or with less tension.

If you’re still not sure, why not just give it a try? It’s without
any risk: if for whatever reason this is not the course for you, you can
get a full refund within 30 days after purchase.

So there’s no need to wait any longer: just hit that ‘enroll’ button
and get access to more than 3 hours of video and all of the resources.

It only takes you one click to have access to ALL of this.

Course characteristics

Since this course is for all levels, beginners to more advanced jazz piano players, this course starts with how basic chords (major 7th, minor 7th, dominant 7th, diminished & augmented) are formed, and continues to advanced chords with added notes and alterations, "So What"-chords, fourth-chords, upper structures and how to create your own chords.

More advanced piano players that already know how basic chords are made, might want to skip the first sections and jump directly in into the more advanced sections: have a look at the curriculum and decide depending on your level where to begin.

As said: beginning jazz piano players can do this course. But be aware that "beginning jazz piano player" doesn't mean a total beginner on the piano: you need at least some ability to play simple songs on the piano and you need to be able to play the major and natural minor scales in as many keys as possible on the piano.

For an even better understanding of how jazz 'works', it would be good to study also some jazz theory, but this is not absolutely needed to follow this course.

This course can very well be done as a course 'on its own', but could also complement any other jazz piano course.

Topics covered in this course

Basic triads (for beginners)

Basic 7th chords (for beginners)

II-V-I chord progressions
