We currently teach two courses at UC Berkeley on Blockchain technology and development. In addition to this we offer educational courses on blockchain technology to executives and companies that collaborate with us. Blockchain at Berkeley attempts to open source as much of this content as possible to increase the amount of information accessible to the community. The material from one of our technical courses can be found . We are currently working with four different corporations on Blockchain projects including Airbus, Exxon, and Qualcomm as well as several Blockchain platforms such as Cosmos and IOTA. We maintain a position of being blockchain agnostic and seek to stay at the forefront of where this fast paced industry is headed.

Business Strategy Execution: Agile Organization Design

Transforming Culture and Capabilities to Execute Business Strategy: The Agile Way to Business Strategy Success

Created by Lawrence M. Miller, Institute for Leadership Excellence - Best Selling Instructor, Author & Leadership Coach

Students: 14670, Price: $129.99

Students: 14670, Price:  Paid

Your business success is not merely having a goal, a direction, a vision. It is the ability to change, to create the process, the organization, the capabilities and culture, that result in performance. This course is a roadmap that will enable you to successfully execute strategy.

  • "Engaging and enlightening. Larry's wealth of experience allows you to easily apply the subject matter to the real world." Neil Shaw

Note: Now included is the complete ebook Getting to Lean - Transformational Change Management. It is attached to lecture 4.

Business Strategy Execution is a hot topic in management today. The Conference Board's recent Survey of CEOs revealed that chief executives are so concerned about strategy execution that they rated it as both their number one and number two most challenging issue.

Why does strategy execution so often fail? Because most strategic plans are little more than a series of vertically integrated objectives. But, the problem is not objectives and it is not vertical. It is the "whole-system" and its ability to adapt and align, internally and externally in fast cycles. In other words, to be agile. The problem is the culture and capabilities of the organization and a process to design and deploy those capabilities. This course provides that process and is based on forty years of experience improving the performance of organizations.

The problem is developing new capabilities and a new culture that will enable the organization to achieve its goals. The term "Agile" implies an iterative process of experimentation, learning, adaptation to the changing environment, and alignment with other business units and support groups. This course is about creating that agility, adaptation and alignment.

Every organization has capabilities that are embedded in the culture. This course will take the leader through a process of assessing the current culture, its assets and liabilities, sensing the changing landscape that presents threats and opportunities, and then engaging the organization in the design of those processes and systems that will represent competitive advantage.

The author of this course is the author of ten books on leadership, lean management and change process. This course includes the text and material from three of his books.

Study of organizational behavior, leading and managing people, team management & positive corporate culture building

Created by Vijesh Jain - International Business Coach

Students: 12554, Price: $89.99

Students: 12554, Price:  Paid

Organizational Behavior, leading & managing people side of an organization in an effective way, is the most challenging part of business management today. Because, leading and managing people in organization is an art and special qualities of a leader. Thankfully, it is possible to learn the techniques of leading and managing the people side of the organization more effectively. So, this first VJ Business Management Mastery Series course is designed to help you learn the basic insights of how the people side of an organization works. Incidentally, several researches, experiments and surveys done by the likes of Sigmund Freud, Carl Young, McGregor and others, have provided the ways to deal with the people side of an organization. In spite of these great studies and theories in place, many managers and supervisors tend to fail in creating a positive environment at workplaces. Where the employees and team members feel positive and work to their full potential.

What This Course is About?

People's management course of this type is an essential study for all managers, business owners, working professionals. Who dream to move to the to echelon of the management hierarchy. And at the same time, their personality is liked by their colleagues, subordinates and seniors. Also, organizations need to ensure that a good and positive behaviors is developed across the organization. It is in order to achieve the corporate goals and objectives.

People's behavioral management in an organization is key for success in any business. Therefore, the course focuses on how to deal with the people's side of an organization and business. Because the human part of the business is the most challenging part of any business entity. Human behavior is most unpredictable, erratic and dynamic in nature. Human brain is the most complicated machine part ever created by humans or nature on this planet. And it is distinctly different from the wired machines. Therefore dealing with human behavior is akin to dealing with the human brain. At the same time, no business can be run without the interventions of humans. Therefore it becomes imperative to deal with the human side of business.

Organizational Behavior Management vs Change Management

One of the most skillful functions of managers is to learn to manage the people's behavior in organizations. It involves dealing or sometimes changing with diverse behavior of individuals, teams and sometimes of the whole organization. Humans acquire most behavioral traits in their early childhood. And basic behavioral traits generally cannot be changed in adulthood. Therefore one of the important jobs of the hiring managers is to judge the most basic behavioral traits of the new job aspirants. It is required to see the match and manageability of the expected behavior of the employees in different situations. For example different people behave differently during crisis situations.

In general, leading and managing the colleagues, subordinates and teams through behavioral management, is comparatively easier than changing the people's behavior. Changing behavior involves concepts like ‘change management’ which are generally considered challenging and time consuming. For example, consider asking the employees to switch to a particular organization wide computerized work environment from the manual system. It may be challenging to convince all employees to switch in a reasonable time frame. And, generally delays are common and sometimes such switchover may fail as many employees would refuse to accept the new system. Or may fail to put efforts to learn new ways of working protocols.

So why this course is so important?

Managing people's side of an organization, is a must study course for anyone interested in business and management. Therefore, it is the most important aspect of management and business skills. At the same time, no MBA graduate can be complete management professional, without learning about how to deal with the people side of an organization and business. It is so, because dealing with the people in business is the main role of any management graduate or entrepreneur.

Lean for Business Organizations

Applying Lean in Service and Manufacturing Organizations

Created by Sorin Dumitrascu - Management trainer

Students: 10311, Price: $89.99

Students: 10311, Price:  Paid

The Lean for Business Organizations course includes the following 6 sections:

  1. Introduction to Lean for Service and Manufacturing,

  2. Using Lean for Perfection and Quality,

  3. Lean Tools and Techniques for Flow and Pull,

  4. Reducing Waste and Streamlining Value Flow Using Lean,

  5. Value Stream Mapping in Lean Business, and

  6. Applying Lean in Service and Manufacturing Organizations.

1. Introduction to Lean for Service and Manufacturing

Using inefficient procedures is like digging a 200-foot wide hole for a 100-foot wide house. You'll have wasted a great deal of effort on something you don't really need. Your organization must make shrewd investments in its precious time, money, and effort. You need flexible, intelligent strategies to evolve and prosper in a competitive global market.

Lean is a methodology that incorporates a powerful set of tools and techniques designed to maximize customer value while constantly working to reduce waste. It focuses on improving overall efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Because of its ability to improve customer satisfaction and deliver bottom-line financial gains, Lean is a preferred strategic choice for many organizations.

This course introduces you to the basic principles of Lean, which will help you create more efficient processes and get you on the road to successful operations management.

This course also outlines the five-step process for implementing Lean. By learning how to implement Lean in your organization, you can reduce the costs of developing your company's product, increase production efficiency, and improve safety, quality, and performance levels.

Finally, the course explains how Lean integrates with the Six Sigma production management system. Using this hybrid approach enables you to minimize process and product defects, and to identify and resolve pervasive problems.

2. Using Lean for Perfection and Quality

Today's markets are very competitive and customers insist on the best quality products for their money. This means that businesses must actively pursue perfection to keep their customers and to retain their market share.

Pursuing perfection and excellent quality are important principles of Lean thinking.

Continuous improvement, the elimination of waste, and striving toward zero defects all help organizations attract and keep customers, and so increase their profitability.

This course introduces four Lean tools organizations use to strive for perfection and improve quality – 5S, Hoshin Kanri, jidoka and poka yoke, and standard work.

As you work through this course, you'll find out what these tools are, their purpose, and how the tools are used.

You should then be able to recognize how the tools may be used in your own organization.

The course provides examples of how the Lean tools can be applied in both manufacturing and service organizations. It will help you assess your own organization's needs and determine how you can apply the tools to perfect what you offer.

3. Lean Tools and Techniques for Flow and Pull

How can you make your organization more efficient? The simplest way is to eliminate waste from your processes. This waste can be caused by many factors, such as untidy workspaces and surplus inventory. Or it might be caused by inefficient distribution of work. Using Lean tools, you can make your processes smoother and your workspaces tidier.

To implement a Lean solution, you must know what tools and techniques are available, and which ones would best help you. You have to select the best blend of Lean techniques for your organization. You can use a number of Lean techniques to make your organization run more smoothly. These include the visual workplace, just-in-time, kanban, and line balancing.

The visual workplace uses signs and other visual cues to convey information quickly. The visual cues include work instructions, process flow diagrams, and status boards.

Just-in-time ensures that you have exactly the right amount of supplies needed at any time. This helps to reduce surplus inventory.

Kanban cards are triggers that alert the team to send more parts or supplies. The parts are then "pulled" into the system, based on demand.

Line balancing results in the even distribution of work among workers. No workers are overburdened, and no workers are left idle.

Using the Lean techniques outlined in this course will help you to develop strategies for improving flow and pull in your organization.

4. Reducing Waste and Streamlining Value Flow Using Lean

For your business to be the best it can be, you need to eliminate what doesn't work and improve what does. In Lean thinking, this translates to reducing or eliminating waste and improving the flow of production. This course introduces approaches you can use to do just that, in both the manufacturing and service environments.

Before you can reduce waste, you need to recognize where and how it's occurring.

In this course, you'll learn how to do this by determining which of your company's activities add value and which don't.

Once you've categorized activities, you can search for ways to eliminate those that don't add value or, if they're required, to minimize the resources spent on them. And for activities that do add value, you can find ways to optimize this value.

Next you'll learn about the different forms of waste that you find in a business and the typical causes of each type of waste.

You'll also learn various strategies for minimizing or eliminating each of the waste types.

This course also explains the concept of continuous flow, which depends on the removal of obstacles and bottlenecks in work processes. You'll learn how to balance work processes to enhance flow, with the aim of producing what's needed, when it's needed, in the quantities required.

Using the strategies outlined in this course can improve the efficiency of your business, moving its processes closer to perfection.

5. Value Stream Mapping in Lean Business

Suppose on your first day of work, your boss tells you too many defects have crept into the company's product. She then asks for your input on how to solve the problem. But without knowing how the company's current processes work, it's unlikely you'll have useful suggestions. To improve processes, you first need to understand them.

To understand how something works, you need to observe it, noting how it fits into a larger pattern.

Creating a visual representation of the material and information flow that leads to the creation of a product or service can help. This is called value stream mapping.

With a value stream map, you can search for flaws, work out why problems exist, and plan how to eliminate them.

This course teaches you how to use value stream mapping as a tool for improving an organization's processes and making them more efficient. You'll learn how to create a current-state value stream map, analyze the current state, and then create a future-state map.

Create a current-state map - The course provides an overview of the steps involved in creating a current-state map and of the symbols typically used in this type of map.

Analyze current state - The current-state map provides a big-picture view of a targeted process. This makes it easier to identify where waste is occurring and why.

Create a future-state map - You'll learn how to create a future-state value stream map. This involves searching for and then recording opportunities to balance the production line, create pull, and eliminate sources of waste.

In this course, you'll learn how value stream mapping can be used, in both manufacturing and service industries. It will prove a valuable tool you can use to improve efficiency and eliminate waste, ultimately boosting both customer satisfaction and an organization's profits.

6. Applying Lean in Service and Manufacturing Organizations

Despite the relative simplicity of many Lean tools, a majority of attempts to adopt Lean in an organization fail. Why does this happen?

The chief cause of failure to convert to a Lean enterprise is lack of awareness that it requires a culture change, rather than simply a change in tools.

Transformation to a Lean enterprise calls for a complete change in the way everyone in the organization thinks about work, as well as slight work modifications.

Flirting with Lean tools won't create a meaningful or lasting improvement in an organization. To truly embrace and integrate Lean principles, an organization has to make a long-term commitment to the change. It also has to change its culture. All employees need to practice applying Lean concepts daily, until Lean thinking becomes an accepted and routine part of how they think and behave. It requires a cultural change.

A permanent shift to the Lean philosophy can occur only from a continuous improvement philosophy. When this occurs, organizational and customer benefits will be realized. So you need to encourage and practice continuous improvement daily to truly integrate the shift in culture.

This course provides a guide to the benefits and characteristics of a Lean culture. It provides tips and strategies for facilitating a culture change through the use of kaizen. And it provides a detailed guide on how to plan for and implement a kaizen event in your organization.

That’s it! Now go ahead and push that “Take this course” button and see you on the inside!

The Most Successful Personal Organization Course Series of All Time -- Now All in One Course

5 Courses, covering every stage of the digital and physical organization workflow, now combined into one Massive Course.

12+ Hours of high quality, 1080p video.

The #1 organization system in the world.

The idea behind this course is simple.

When organizing your stuff, whether that's digital files, paper files or all the physical objects in your home and or office, there are two questions:

1. Where does this go?

2. Where did I put that?

This course solves this problem with a system that has been perfected to be able to handle anything you throw at it.

And it's a system that works using the exact same framework whether the "stuff" you are organizing is digital or physical, so that you don't have to learn multiple systems.

Another key innovation of this system is that it uses inboxes.

What this allows you to do is separate the organization process into 2 steps.

The first step is getting anything that is not currently organized into an inbox. It then lives there until you feel like organizing.

The second step is going and organizing each inbox, usually at regular intervals like weekly or monthly.

What this does is it allows you to take advantage of the extra efficiency of doing things in batch mode, while also allowing you to avoid clutter in the mean time by having all your non-organized-stuff in on place and hidden from view.

You get the benefit of zero clutter, while at the same time getting the efficiency of batch processing.

Being unorganized is a silent killer. Just when you are ready to start a new project or implement a new habit, you get stuck because you can't find something and have to spend an hour looking for some essential thing...a piece of paper, a document, a tool, a folder, a gadget, etc.

This system, once operational, keeps you in the flow because these "hiccups" just don't happen anymore. You always know where something is going to be and it's painless to go find it.

It's no exaggeration to say this system will change your life once implemented.

See you inside,

We are top Udemy instructors in the personal development category. Our courses have been taken by over 300,000+ happy students from 195 countries.

We have a thriving community in the course and we are actively involved and answer questions within 24h.

Whether you...

  • Run your own business

  • Have a management position

  • Are an executive in a Fortune 500 company

  • Aspire to lead in any of these ways

...there are certain qualities and capabilities you need in order to succeed as a leader.

Every skill imaginable is available at your fingertips—all you have to do is download an app, enroll in an online course, read a book, or hire a coach. If everything you need to learn to be a great leader is out there, available to everyone, why, then are some leaders---and the organizations they run—so much more successful than others?

Would your answer be:

  • Because some leaders put more time and effort into learning the necessary skills

  • Because some leaders are just more naturally talented than others

Your answer to THIS question is the greatest predictor of your future success as a leadernot your degrees, experience, innate abilities, personality, current position or how many of the top qualities great leaders have that you already possess.

Whether you believe your success as a leader depends on you being more talented than others or you believe your success as a leader depends on your willingness to learn and develop the needed skills—this distinction is what determines EVERYTHING.

In our society, and especially in the hierarchical structure in the corporate world, there is a prevailing belief that some people are simply smarter or more talented than others and that this difference is what accounts for a person’s success or failure. However, in industries like sports where natural talent is highly coveted, over and over again the athletes who initially showed lower levels of raw talent are the ones who come out on top.

Let us tell you a little story...

In a famous example, Michael Jordan—the most revered basketball player of all times—was cut from his high school basketball team. Other players may have had more natural ability, but Michael surpassed them all. Why? Because he out-worked every single one of them. He developed his abilities, whereas the players who though they were already talented and didn’t have to try so hard, didn’t.

But it wasn’t the hours of extra time Michael put into practicing every day that allowed him to, literally, leap above his competitors. What enabled him to become the best in history was his belief system—his mindset—the belief that he was CAPABLE of improving his ability.

It’s not a person’s talent that makes them successful—it’s the belief that they can IMPROVE—and then the action they take to do so.

What the most successful leaders have that others don’t is a GROWTH MINDSET. They believe that they will become the best leaders they can be through EFFORT, LEARNING, and GROWTH. They believe they, and everyone they work with, are capable of improving. Without this underlying belief, they will not put the time and effort into learning those needed skills because, well, why bother? You either have the talent and intelligence to be a leader or you don’t, right?

This course was created to help you identify the differences between a fixed mindset leader and a growth mindset leader so that you can become the latter.

This course will help you develop a growth mindset, starting with the good news that regardless of what you previously thought, the truth is that your talent and intelligence is not fixed—you can develop your abilities in any area.

Then, you can take what you learn and teach the growth mindset to your staff. And because you believe in the human potential to learn and grow you can coach employees to reach their potential. The result is that your employees will improve and your teams, projects, or department will thrive.

Lastly, you’ll learn how growth mindset organizations operate differently, why they outperform and outlast fixed mindset organizations, and how you can take make these changes in your organization.

And, you’ll receive a proven blueprint for setting growth-oriented goals so that you can implement the exciting new strategies you learn for developing yourself as a leader and inspiring your staff and organization to embrace their potential.

So, are you ready to transform your life, career, and business? If so enroll now, we look forward to seeing you in the course!

Acumen Presents: Prasad Setty of Google on People Analytics

In today’s competitive knowledge economy, a company’s ability to attract, retain and develop talented people is critical.  Yet, in most organizations, we end up basing personnel decisions on emotions, instincts or politics rather than data. Important decisions about talent end up becoming black-box calculations rather than data-driven choices.

Enter People Analytics. This emerging field uses data to advance how organizations make decisions about human resources and enables leaders to operate on evidence rather than intuition.

Prasad Setty leads the People Analytics team at Google and is a pioneer in this field. In this course, he’ll offer you a behind-the-scenes look at how Google conducts groundbreaking research to distill the characteristics of the most effective teams and managers. He’ll walk you through how his team uses data to inform Google’s decisions about promotions, compensation, and team structure and help you get started incorporating data into your own human resource decisions—even if you’re a social entrepreneur starting at a much smaller and scrappier scale.

By the end of this course, you’ll have worked towards establishing a data-powered, performance-driven culture for your own enterprise and gained practical tips for building people analytics processes. This course is for anyone who wants to develop a smarter social enterprise where key personnel decisions are data-informed and human-approved.

Students: 4684, Price:  Paid

One of the most basic building blocks of organizational success is appropriate organizational design. What do we mean by that? It is the design of authority and responsibility. One should always know who is his/her manager and who are the subordinates. But is it that easy?

In the first part of the course, we will talk about basic challenges in organizational design, which are mostly about finding the right balance. Hence, we will try to belance centralization vs decentralization, mechanistic vs organic structure, and standardization vs mutual adjustment. This approach states that all of the previously mentioned balance choices should be tailored to the sources of uncertainty that our organization is facing.

In the second part of the course we will lay focus on the design of authority in organizations. We will talk especially about tall hierarchies - which are the ones with many organizational levels. These can have serious problems as will be displayed in Parkinson´s Law Problem.

Finally, we will get to concrete organizational structures that our organization can understake. We will begin with the most basic functional structure which later on evolves to one of divisional structures. We will cover the main ones here as each posseses specific characteristics. After all, we will bring some interesting ones such as network, hybrid or network structure. Looking forward to see you inside!

Mastering Organization Vol 3: Object Inboxes

A Game Changing Inbox-Based System to Overhaul Your Unorganized Objects in Your Home, Office and Vehicles and Pockets.

Created by Timothy Kenny - Author of "Accelerated Learning for Entrepreneurs"

Students: 1930, Price: $89.99

Students: 1930, Price:  Paid

Is your life a "mess?"

Can't find things?

Lot's of clutter?

Huge to do list?

Always procrastinating?

Never get stuff done on time?

Well, the productivity train is rolling in again with this brand new course.

This course is a continuation of the existing series on Mastering Productivity. This time you are learning how to set up a system for organizing your objects, as opposed to your information.

Got problems with clutter? Never figured out how to solve it once and for all? This is the system that will fix it forever.

And it works in parallel with the Info Org system, so you have one integrated solution for everything you manage, both information and objects. This kind of system doesn’t exist anywhere else on earth.

I wish it did so I didn’t have to build it. It’s taken a large chunk of my life to get it built and working properly.

Volume 4 shows you how to do batch processing and gives you a full "Life System" that will teach you where to store all your information for long term storage, once you move it out of the inbox.

The Life System categories are 1. Professional, 2. Personal, 3. Relationships, and 4. Health. The full system contains hundreds of sub folders and is 3-4 folders deep in most cases. You will get the full folder structure as a zip file in Volume 4 as well as a walkthrough of how to use the system.

However, remember this ISN'T part of this course. This course is just about setting up all your inboxes, which is a prerequisite for Volume 4.

Just this first step of setting up the inboxes will take you several hours to complete once you have watched all the videos, and to implement Volume 4 will take even longer. Because of the amount of information and time required to implement these have been split up into two volumes.
