audio engineering: EQ and Compression for beginners

this course will teach you EQ and compression used in audio engineering

Created by Christopher "Czar" Smith - Independent Audio Engineer

"]

Students: 25943, Price: Free

Eq and compressors play a very important role in controlling and shaping music, movies, and TV shows. So it shouldn't be a surprise its the most used tools in audio engineering. Eq is widely used even outside of the audio world. Anything you do adjust the bass or treble of a sound is using eq. Car stereos, ipod, smart phones music player, computers, all have eq controls. Even when you adjust the sound presets on your TV you are using eq. With the EQ spread use of EQ in our everyday life you can see why its so important to get EQ right when we are engineering. After completing this course you will see just how powerful EQ can be.

Compressors aren't widely used as EQ outside of audio engineering, but is still very important to learn. Using compression is the most understood tool used in audio. And because there are so many different compressors its no wonder they can be confusing.

This course will teach you the basics of EQ and compression. Two tools vital to becoming a good audio engineer. With over 15 years of experience in audio I will share with ways to understand what eq and compression does, as well as how its used. After this course stay tuned as I will more courses coming soon. Since Compression is always a hot topic in audio I have a few more courses on compression planned out. This course is for beginners, but even if your past a the beginning stages of engineering I encourage you to still subscribe to this course. You may learn something you didn't already know. This course will take one hour to complete and will be followed by a quiz. If you want to further your knowledge about compression check out Basics of Compression course. Any questions my contact info will be provided in the course.

Free Ultimate Beginners Guitar Lessons – Part 1

Your first steps to learning guitar the right way. Sign up and see your playing progress daily which is always exciting

Created by Michael Warren - Guitar Lessons For You Form A Professional Guitar Teacher

"]

Students: 19044, Price: Free

Welcome to the Ultimate Beginners Guitar Lessons - Part 1. These are free guitar lessons for the beginner of any age.

With these lessons you'll learn how to play guitar the right way, and see progression daily which always makes learning exciting, with over 4 hours and more than 50 lessons we guarantee you immediate results with this professionally designed step-by-step course that's fun and easy for all ages. You'll get everything you need to know as a beginner guitarist and discover how to play songs in minutes.

You will never feel rushed, get stuck or find a new skill too hard. With over 50 step-by-step lessons moving through each level is a breeze.

You will be playing your favorite songs straight away. With this new teaching method, each lesson is based around learning with songs to build and master all the techniques, so practice never feels like a chore.

You can learn anywhere, anytime on all platforms with access 24/7 and talk to an expert whenever you need, just leave a comment and we will get back to you with a quick response.

Your teacher Michael has been playing for 30 years and teaching one-on-one with students for 20, and over that time has seen the struggles beginners can have when they play guitar, so he developed a tried and tested step-by-step course for absolute beginners that will get the results you have always desired.

As An Added Bonus all the guitar lessons have multiple camera angles so you can see exactly what each hand is doing with onscreen TAB all with an easy to follow arrow with printable lesson materials so you can access them any time.

What you get in the course:

The first part you focus on the guitar fundamentals. Michael will start by talking you through selecting the best beginner guitar, guitar picks, guitar strap, guitar tuner and the best choices for you. You will learn the parts of an acoustic and an electric guitar and how to set up your amplifier.

Michael will explore your correct posture, how to hold your pick and hand placement, correct guitar tuning techniques and all the skills a student needs to know before they start playing guitar. These steps are very important when first starting out and often overlooked by teachers with less experience.

Now the fun part.  We get straight into playing.  Michael knows you need to get a feel for the guitar first, so you start with reading TAB and playing on 1 string with 1 finger and we develop that skills with songs so you are playing straight away, from this point we take small steps learning new techniques and practising those skills with songs.  Using this method you'll be amazed at how fast you progress with your playing on an acoustic or an electric guitar. Learning a technique and applying that to songs is the best way to learn how to play guitar.

Michael has seen guitar for beginners courses that begin with chords and scales, this is simply wrong.  Through years of teaching beginners he understands it can be quite frustrating and takes a long time before you can see any progress in your playing because it is just too hard to start with these techniques. At essential guitar lessons we want you to get the right start.

If you learn guitar the right way our step-by-step learning method will fast track your guitar playing by months as a beginner and years as you progress through to the advanced courses we have built. This is the best place to start for all beginners no matter what style of guitar playing you like.

"I've always loved teaching students how to play guitar and hope you enjoy this course as much as I did creating it."

"]

This course will walk you through two different ways to create an original custom ringtone of your own for any smart phone.

Each method demonstrates creation of a different style of ringtone - step by step - and guides you through the process of getting a ringtone ready for your phone. The methods shown do not involve sampling music.

When tested with students, most completed their ringtone in 15
minutes or less but you may choose to spend a little more time getting
sounds just right for you.

This course is optimised for GarageBand for iOS version 2.1 - however, Apple released version 2.2 of the App in January 2017. There is a section of Additional Information videos at the end of the course that cover the changes that were introduced with the new version. Features of version 2.3 (released November 2017) are not shown in the videos of this course.

Note: Methods to transfer audio to phones will be shown but it is up to you to know how to assign a ringtone on your phone.

Most of my students will know that I am currently working on my Advanced GarageBand for iPad course. Making a custom ringtone was originally going to be a section of that new course. However, the Advanced course has been taking more time to complete that I hoped, so I am offering this part of it completely free!

If you said YES to either of these questions, this course is for you.

My course is designed to rekindle the piano player in you and help get you started playing quickly with an easier methodology than is used in traditional lessons.  I designed my methodology to help you learn how to play the piano quickly with a few tricks. My course is NOT designed for those individuals looking to learn/ play traditional music. I don't focus you to learn the chords and scales but help you get started playing a song right away.

In my course, I will teach you how to play the song 'Joy to the World'. Although 'Joy to the World' may not be at the top of your songs to learn, it's a great song to help teach you the fundamentals of learning to play the piano with a song that your ear will understand. No Wigwam songs here! The fundamentals learned in this course can be applied to be able to play other C, F, G chord songs like 'The Christmas Song' and others!
