To help them out perform their mundane tasks and analyze data well, dashboards can play a very effective role. Simply gathering data on excel sheets would not be helpful it requires to speak for further decision making. This is when HR analytics comes to aid for aggregating data in a meaningful way. Data analysis is a useful tool. No matter what profession you’re in, you need data analysis to have a sense of what’s going. Let’s take the example of a human resource professional. If the HR has to understand how efficient her employees are, she needs to look at the hours worked, the value produced, the importance of the value created in regards to the business objective, and what triggered the performance (both good or bad). If she analyses, she would be able to discover why a particular employee is productive whereas another employee is not so efficient. We can take many examples of data analysis from various professions like finance, marketing, banking, trading, investment professionals and many more.

The idea is to learn to collect the data, clean the data if they’re ambiguous, analyzing the data, and using statistical methods to create a sound presentation of the set of data.

In this excel data analysis course, you will learn data analysis using MS Excel. No matter what profession you’re in, the learning would be so very valuable. You don’t need to be a data analyst to take this course. You should know basic mathematics and you would be good to go.

This course is ideal for Financial analyst, Bankers, Risk Managers and Credit Analysts. The training will include the following;

  • The basic characteristics of Preferred Stock

  • Valuing Preferred Stock

  • The basic characteristics of Common Stock

  • Valuing Common Stock

  • Calculating a stock’s expected rate of return

  • Dividend policy affecting stock price

  • Different Dividend decisions

  • Computation of dividend on stock

The course will help you learn about valuing of company’s stock while financial decision making discussed with the help of a few case studies. Stock valuation is a process for estimating the economic worth of a stakeholder’s interest in a business. Before starting the valuation, the circumstances surrounding and the reasons for valuation has to be ascertained. These are formally known as “premise of value”, and “standard of value”. While the former relates to assumptions on which valuation is based, the latter represents the hypothetical conditions on which the company will be valued.

There are several instances when you may have to determine the market value of a company. Selling and buying a business, of course, is one of the most common reasons. Estate planning, reorganization, and verification of a company’s worth to its investors and lenders are the other common reasons.

Valuing a business is not mathematics that will lead to a calculated result. Valuations may vary on the type of business and the reasons behind valuating it in the first place. There are many factors involved in the process, from the book value of the company to a wide range of tangible and intangible elements. Generally speaking, the value of a company will have to rely on its cash flow analysis. In other words, a company’s ability to generate regular profits would ultimately determine its actual worth in the marketplace.

Business valuation is the first point where sellers and buyers meet. The two sides rarely arrive at a common number. The seller would obviously look for a higher price to sell the business. The buyer, on its part, would want a lesser valuation. The goal of the media company evaluator would be to arrive at a number from which the seller and buyer can further negotiate the price. Veteran business appraiser Bryan Goetz said that businesses are as complex and unique like the people who run them and a company can’t be valued by a simple thumb rule.

Create a simple, cheap, and diversified investment portfolio

How to invest your money once you embrace that you can't beat the market, which very few investors can.

Created by Lars Kroijer - Investment Author

Students: 8641, Price:  Free

Lars Kroijer’s investing video series. This course is based on the premise that you are highly unlikely to beat the market, or to be able to pick an investment fund that outperforms the market consistently for you, which only 1 out of 10 funds do over a ten year period. We explain why accepting this premise is important, and then walk through the theory behind this investment philosophy, and how there is a super simple, cheap and powerful alternative way to manage investments that don’t imply that you are somehow an investment superstar. The course is based on a practical implementation of optimal portfolio theory.

You only need to buy only cheap world equity index tracker plus low risk asset and think about your risk personal risk levels. The course will also help you avoid paying large unnecessary fees to the financial sector and highly likely leave you much better off in the long run. The course also describes how you can implement the cheap and optimal portfolio from a practical perspective using index tracking investment products like ETFs that are available to virtually all investors, and thus avoid the much higher fees of the mutual fund industry.

The structure of the course is as follows:

1.    Introduce the concept

2.    Convince investors of the low likelihood of being able to beat the markets

3.    Explain why you only need one world equity index tracker for your equity portfolio

4.    Outline how a portfolio combining this equity exposure with a low risk asset in proportions to suit your risk profile is the simplest and best portfolio for most people.

5.    How you actually go about implementing the portfolio with specific examples of products.

This course is useful for anyone with savings and investments who is thinking about pension, retirement, or simply securing their financial future, and generally worry about the best way to manage their assets. It is a short 30+ minute course with some backup material and ultimately the concepts are described in great detail in Lars Kroijer’s book on the topic, “Investing Demystified” (Financial Times Publishing). Technical Analysis is an examination technique to recognize trading opportunities in the market on the basis of activities of market’s participants. The movements of these participants can be envisioned by the preparation of a stock chart. With the passage of time, patterns are shaped within these charts and each pattern expresses a different meaning. The duty of a technical analyst is to recognize these patterns and construct an opinion. Just like any other technique, technical analysis also is based on a few assumptions. As an expert of technical analysis, one needs to trade in the market after considering all assumptions in standpoint.Well, as we already know there is nothing such as one best research methodology. In fact, all research methods have their own merits and drawbacks. It would be pointless to invest time in comparing TA and FA so as to figure out which of these is better method. Both techniques are equally efficient and thus not comparable. As a matter of fact, any wise trader would devote time on getting educated about both these techniques so as to identify superior trading and investing prospects.Technical analysis is quite often approached by market participants as a fast and easy tactic to make a huge boon in the market. In actuality, technical analysis is quite opposite to quick and easy. Sure, if approached correctly, a boon gain is possible but to get to that phase, one has to devote the required effort to acquire and learn this technique. Moreover, if one tries to take TA as a fast and easy approach to making huge money in markets then trading upheaval becomes inevitable. Whenever a trading catastrophe takes place, most certainly the blame goes to technical analysis and not on the trader’s lack of knowledge and misuse of information provided. Thus before one starts to delve deep into technical analysis, it is vital that he or she knows what can and cannot be achieved by technical analysis.

Here are a few significant points to remember in regard to Technical Analysis –

Trades – TA is most suited to find short-term trades. TA should never be used to recognize long-term investment prospects. This is because long-term investment prospects can be best recognized through fundamental analysis. Furthermore, if one are a fundamental analyst, he/she should utilize TA to regulate the entry and departure points.

Return per trade – The trades based on TA are usually of short term nature. As said earlier, one should not expect very significant returns within a matter of a few days. The trick with getting successful through TA is to recognize recurrent short-term trading prospects which can offer small and regular profits.

Holding Period – Trades that are done on the basis of technical analysis are most likely to last anywhere between a few minutes to few weeks, but not beyond that. More information on this aspect can be found on the subject on timeframes.

Risk – Traders most probably start a trade for a specific reason, though in case of a hostile movement in the stock, the trade begins to make a loss. In such situations, traders usually stick to their loss incurring trades with an expectation of recovering the loss. Recall that TA based trades are most often short-term and in case the trade does not goes as expected, remember to amend the losses and progress to find another occasion.

** Please be aware that this course is not an investment recommendation of any sort**

What is the best way to learn financial modelling, valuation, corporate strategy, marketing fundamentals, and financial statement analysis?

Go through a complete, real life case study.

And which is arguably the hottest company in the business world today?

Tesla Inc.

This is the first online course attempting to teach several disciplines by combining them in a coherent and holistic case study of a company.

In this course, we will touch on several important topics about Tesla:

  • Business strategy

  • Marketing

  • Financial statement analysis

  • Financial planning and forecasting

  • Valuation

Each topic we discuss is a natural continuation of what you have learned from the previous one. This will allow you to understand Tesla’s business very well.

It is a fascinating firm that has already made huge steps towards achieving its mission: accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The entire auto industry is focused on electric vehicles, in large part because of how successful Tesla has been in the last few years.

Tesla is a more expensive company than well-established traditional auto industry players like BMW and Daimler.

And yet it sells 20x-30x fewer cars compared to these companies.

According to investment banking analysts “Tesla has a brand following that is second only to Apple’s”

However, many analysts are uncertain whether the company has sufficient cash to sustain its growth and win a bigger portion of the market?

Tesla has established itself as the main innovator in the EV field.

But its CEO, Elon Musk, decided to open-source all of the company’s patents.

This is but one reason why Mr Musk is seen as the most exciting entrepreneur of this generation.

While many feel he can do no wrong, he also runs multiple multibillion-dollar businesses and it is unclear how much time he is able to spend on Tesla.

On our journey, we will encounter and analyse many contradictions surrounding Musk and Tesla. This is precisely what makes Tesla a perfect case study. Our goal with this course was to create a holistic, 360 degrees experience, that studies multiple facets of the company.

We are not simply going to study financial statements. We will do that, but we will explore the company from multiple perspectives.

Strategy:

  • How does Tesla intend to compete in the EV market?

  • What are the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats?

  • Why is Tesla regarded as the ‘new Apple’?

  • Which are the competitive advantages and traits that make the two companies similar?

  • How is Tesla’s partnership with SpaceX going to help the company in the long-run?

  • What is Tesla’s mission and vision?

  • How does Tesla’s business look from a strategic perspective after performing the 5-forces analysis?

  • What was the rationale behind Tesla’s merger with Solar City, the renewable energy company?

  • How does renewable energy align with the electric vehicles business of the company?

Marketing:

  • Who is in Tesla’s target market?

  • How could we describe the firm’s ideal customer?

  • What kind of segmentation problems could Tesla run into in the future?

  • Is the company’s pricing coherent with the competitive strategy it has chosen?

  • How does Elon Musk leverage personal branding?

  • Why will this help Tesla in the long run?

Financial Statement Analysis:

  • What do the company’s financial ratios show about historical performance?

  • Is Tesla a growing business?

  • How profitable is Tesla?

  • How much working capital investment does the company need?

  • How likely is it that Tesla will have liquidity difficulties in the near future?

  • Are there any issues from a solvency perspective?

Financial Modeling and Valuation:

  • How to forecast vehicle deliveries over the next 10 years.

  • How to forecast average selling price of the types of vehicles to be delivered over the next 10 years.

  • What portion of revenues would expenses like Cogs and Opex account for?

  • How to forecast fixed asset investments and working capital needs.

  • How much is Tesla’s weighted average cost of capital?

  • Is Tesla’s DCF valuation in line with its current market price?

This course is perfect for aspiring financial analysts, investment bankers, business analysts, consultants, or corporate executives. The skills you will acquire are the perfect blend of soft and technical skills that will give you an edge in interviews.

LIKE ALL OTHER COURSES. UNLIKE ANY OTHER COURSE

Learn 56 state-of-the-art elite persuasion and influence techniques from my 5 years of influence and performance coaching of top hedge fund managers, private equity and venture capital GPs, other asset managers and investment banking professionals in all different types of institutional sales and investor relations situations. I'm a 2x MIT-backed entrepreneur turned persuasion psychology coach who has worked with (and made better negotiators of) different profiles, and this course is for you if you're seeking to improve your influencing, for professional selling or just know more about how to win friends and influence people.

WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR

  • Billion-dollar AuM managers of hedge funds trying to raise capital from allocators;

  • Fund managers trying to lead their team better (convince analysts and PMs to do things they don't want to);

  • Investment banking professionals trying to pitch hot deals to corporate or PE buyers (or manage their talent);

  • Any investment professional that aims to become a fund manager in the future, manage investment and research teams, and manage institutional capital;

Throughout my experience in persuasion psychology coaching and training for influencing, I've compiled a framework with my most elite persuasion and influence techniques to use for influence, and I'll share all of them with you on this course. Besides just pure influence and technique, there are multiple bonuses included to help consolidate these influence lessons.

These techniques use similar psychological principles leveraged by persuasion scientists and master salesmen. You will see many techniques similar to Robert Cialdini's, Chris Voss's and/or Grant Cardone's, for example, but these will be the deeper, more general psychological persuasion elements (don't be scared by the "general" - we will apply them and explore very specific applications of these, for example raising capital from allocators as a hedge fund manager, negotiating a side letter provision as a private equity GP, or pitching a hot deal as an investment banker). Field-tested and proven in the most extreme situations.

LET ME TELL YOU... EVERYTHING

Some people - including me - love to know what they're getting in a package.

And by this, I mean, EVERYTHING that is in the package.

So, here is a list of everything that this course covers:

  • How making something seem more exclusive makes it more persuasive, limiting access to it or creating more scarcity;

  • How limited access and scarcity work, by making people fight for something due to not having enough time or openings, by pressuring them into making a decision, or by seeming to be associated with exclusive or elite people or entities;

  • How the psychological effect of "removing licenses" work, by cutting of someone's exit before they even think about it;

  • How artificial scarcity can be created by using "rolling limitations" - periods of scarcity combined with periods of non-scarcity;

  • How specialization makes something seem more targeted and "just for you", even if the thing is, in fact, generic;

  • How reducing the number of tasks that you do and the people you do them for (using, for example, the 80/20 rule) can help you become more specialized;

  • How the "advanced effect" works - people always prefer the "advanced" material, even if they are newbies;

  • How secrecy works, by having non-public or confidential steps to a formula - or its variations of mystique - having an aura of secrecy around yourself, and not your work - or vanguard knowledge, being the first person to reveal something;

  • How the technique of "the diagnostic" works, obtaining information and seeming an authority while maintaining a "trusted advisor" frame;

  • How non-attachment works, by signaling abundance, and the extreme technique of "costly signaling" - hurting yourself on purpose just to show that you can do it);

  • How adverse transparency works - being honest even about things that go against you, which makes you more of an authority, and specific variations (small flaws,  other opportunities, or  the opportunity cost of going with you);

  • Advanced applications of adverse transparency, including being more self-demanding, blaming yourself for mistakes you make, or unsatisfactory backtracking (going back to correct something incorrect you said in the past);

  • How displayed authority works - by having an object or another person sing your praises instead of you yourself, you make it seem less biased;

  • The different forms of displayed authority, including introductions by other people, objects such as trophies/diplomas, associations with people or institutions of high value, your image itself, and your behavior in terms of status;

  • The manipulative tactic of "weaving" - picking a group of experts, for example for an interview series, and then inserting your opinion together with theirs to try and seem like you are in the same league or group;

  • The concept of "theaters", including security theaters - situations where nothing may be actually done, but the appearance of something is everything;

  • How naming and labeling fallacies work - attributing specific labels to reduce a person or thing to that label, and how the presence or absence of a name has an effect in terms of personalizing or depersonalizing someone or something;

  • (30 technique descriptions ommitted due to Udemy text length constraints);

  • How to use streamlining to make something seem less effortful, by using words (such as "simple", "quick", "fast", "just 2 steps", "instant access"), by bringing structure ("It's 3 easy steps") or by preempting issues and removing them ("If you don't know how to pay, visit ABC page");

  • How the principle of implementation intention forces a person to visualize how to do something, which makes them more likely to do it because it's less mental effort;

  • How to illustrate progress and loss to change the mental effort of something (both illustrating all the progress done so far, triggering sunk cost biases, or illustrating loss to trigger loss aversion);

  • How removing exits works, by removing the person's licenses to do something;

  • How to use framing to change the apparent value of something (is a barebones application a "basic" one, or one where you can "focus" and "do a few things very well"?);

  • How to use context to change the relative value of something (Something that's $1000 seems expensive. But if it's $2000 at 50% discount, it's suddenly very valuable);

  • The role of perceptual contrast in making something seem valuable;

  • How to use extreme anchoring to strengthen your framing (Instead of mentioning a $10k price, mentioning a $30k price that is lowered to $10k just for the person. The price is the same, but they will value it much more);

  • How changing the option set changes the value of something (Compare a $20 book to $10 books - expensive. Compare it to technical manuals worth $70 - very cheap);

  • How the middle option effect works - people usually pick the middle option in a group - so the options can be manipulated to guide the person, using "decoy options";

  • How to change the option set to strengthen your positioning in terms of the best/the first/the only (You may be "one of the best" workers in your department, but you may be "the best" 40-year-old-plus worker in your department);

  • The role of salience in something's value - the more it stands out, the more people remember it. Using bold propositions, bold names, supranatural stimuli or the bizzareness effect;

  • How salience works in presentations through the peak-end effect (people remember the highlight and the end) or the recency-primacy effect (people remember the beginning and end);

  • The role of intent labeling in closing (forcing a person to state what they are going to do, either actively, or by using active choice - "I will do this" instead of just replying "Yes");

  • The effect of future lock-in, which results from time discounting bias. Giving a person a small advantage in the present in return for them being locked for the future;

  • How justifications make something more persuasive - ideally, tailored justifications, but how even simple justifications - "I need this just because" always persuade more;

  • Considerations in persuading both emotional and logical people (focusing on improving the "basket" of things offered, regardless of their value, versus improving logical elements of the offer such as the price);

  • How eliciting multiple reasons or examples work, by making someone like something more or less;

In this course, we will first understand about the various terminologies being used in merger modeling. Post which, we will go through with the detailed merger model, wherein we will learn, how to create assumption sheet, calculation of the purchase price. Further, we will also understand the how the merger deal would be funded. There are various expenses such as the financing expenses, advisory fees, purchase price allocation that would be calculated with specific to the deal.
Next comes the main part of M& A modeling where we would be creating the proforma balance sheet and P&L, accretion/dilution analysis and preparing the sensitivity tables.We have used company’s result press releases and investor presentation to find out relevant data, hence this can assure the reliability of any past data and future projections.

What is a Merger?

In legal terms, a merger is a consolidation of two business entities into one single entity. A merger may also have been placing one parties or organizations business under the ownership of the other party or organization. A merger of equals is when the CEOs of both the companies feel and agree that joining the organizations and the companies is in the interest of both the firms. A merger gives the organization the following advantages.

  1. The merger makes the organization large with a various marketing resources increases financing capabilities more products to market and sell increasing their market value and competing for strength in the market.

  2. Reduces cost by merging similar operational units such as HR, marketing administrative functions, and other functions that have a better value with low-cost post combination. If the companies have similar productions lines even their production areas can be combined for reducing operational cost.

  3. Combining the entities reduces one of their competitors. Now that two entities have combined they have one less competitor in the market.

  4. Synergy in operations is obtained where either low cost or higher profit ratios are expected by adding the financials of the companies.

What is an Acquisition?

The acquisition takes place when one organization or business entity takes the ownership of the assets, equity interest and equity stocks of the other entity or business unit. However, in both the cases the assets and liabilities of two entities are combined into one; and in the case of an accusation, each party’s partial equity ownership is given to the other along with the control of the entire enterprise. A merger is a deal which is friendlier than the acquisitions as it is in the interest of both the parties whereas an acquisition is more unfriendly especially when the management of the target company will oppose the deal.

  1. An acquisition can be done in order to purchase a product that is less expensive to purchase than to manufacture or build. A number of software companies usually purchase products of smaller companies that offer an expansion to their product line. And when they become popular amongst the buyers then they increase the functionality of the product.

  2. Acquisitions can increase the size of an organization. A company that is larger has more visibility in the market it has more access to credit and other resources.

  3. This activity can also give you control over critical resources such as the acquisition of a gold mine by a jewelry company in order to get gold without market price fluctuations.

We very firmly believe that we would want our candidates to understand the concept before they move on to a different topic. Hence we have designed our course material in a very systematic and step by step format staring from the very base of excel to accounting and economics moving on to the advanced level we explain the topics in parts bits and details some information of the course is given in the notes as it covers much more than just the above details you can get an idea by reading below.
