Have you never programmed a computer before, and think or have been told that C is a good programming language to get started with.  It is!

Maybe you have some experience with other programming languages, but want to learn C.  It's a great language to add to your resume!

Or perhaps you are stuck in a low paying programming job, and want to move up to a better, more senior position.  Learning C can help you!

The fact is, learning how to program in C is not only an excellent programming language to get started with, but it will also make you a better programming in other computer languages!

Why learn C ?

C is often considered to be the mother of all languages because so many other languages have been based on it.

Though C is simple it is one of the most powerful languages ever created.  Considering it was created over 40 years ago, it is still used heavily and is usually in the top 5 or 10 most popular and most widely programming languages in the world.

Learning C can actually make you a better programming in other languages like C++, Java, or C# by equipping you with a mental model of what the computer is actually doing when you run your programs.

By learning how things really work "under the hood", and understand memory space, CPU architecture and so on, you can create more efficient programs, and obtain a huge advantage over other programmers in the process.

If you want to become a better developer, learning C is a great way to start!

Why enrolling in this course is the best decision you can make.

By the end of this course, you will understand the fundamentals of the C Programming Language, and make yourself more marketable for entry level programming positions.

You will understand variables and the different data types, be able to utilize functions and arrays, understand the  concept of pointers, learn about control flow (decision statements and iteration).

You will be in a position to apply for real-time programming positions, and truly understand the core language that most modern languages are based on!

If you have previously used the C programming language, then this course will deepen your understanding of it. If you have never used it, no problem, you will see that it can help you become a more efficient C developer.

The course will be constantly refined in the future based on student feedback!

This course does not skip on the details.  You will learn how to write high quality code and become an excellent problem solver.  This course does not just present how to code in the C programming language, but, also includes all the details on "why" you are doing the things you are doing.  At the end of this course, you will fully understand the concepts of the C Programming language.

Your instructor, Jason Fedin has been teaching students for over 12 years via online classes at over 10 different online Universities. He has created many different class curriculums, ranging from mobile programming to bash scripting to Object-Oriented Design and of course the C programming language.

Additionally, he has been developing software for over 16 years in the real world at various companies, specializing in Object-Oriented Development and Mobile Applications.

This means you are learning from someone who has all the professional training, skills, and experience you need to teach you how to become proficient in the C programming language.

If you are ready to get that first paid programming job, or to move up to a more senior programming position, then this course is for you!

Your new job or consulting opportunity awaits!

Welcome to the best Natural Language Processing course on the internet! This course is designed to be your complete online resource for learning how to use Natural Language Processing with the Python programming language.

In the course we will cover everything you need to learn in order to become a world class practitioner of NLP with Python.

We'll start off with the basics, learning how to open and work with text and PDF files with Python, as well as learning how to use regular expressions to search for custom patterns inside of text files.

Afterwards we will begin with the basics of Natural Language Processing, utilizing the Natural Language Toolkit library for Python, as well as the state of the art Spacy library for ultra fast tokenization, parsing, entity recognition, and lemmatization of text.

We'll understand fundamental NLP concepts such as stemming, lemmatization, stop words, phrase matching, tokenization and more!

Next we will cover Part-of-Speech tagging, where your Python scripts will be able to automatically assign words in text to their appropriate part of speech, such as nouns, verbs and adjectives, an essential part of building intelligent language systems.

We'll also learn about named entity recognition, allowing your code to automatically understand concepts like money, time, companies, products, and more simply by supplying the text information.

Through state of the art visualization libraries we will be able view these relationships in real time.

Then we will move on to understanding machine learning with Scikit-Learn to conduct text classification, such as automatically building machine learning systems that can determine positive versus negative movie reviews, or spam versus legitimate email messages.

We will expand this knowledge to more complex unsupervised learning methods for natural language processing, such as topic modelling, where our machine learning models will detect topics and major concepts from raw text files.

This course even covers advanced topics, such as sentiment analysis of text with the NLTK library, and creating semantic word vectors with the Word2Vec algorithm.

Over the years, I've taught many different kinds of classics courses to all kinds of different audiences. This class on Udemy is a distillation of the topics that students have responded to most positively and have most often asked about. We start with a look at the physical world of the Greeks, and then take up the Iliad of Homer. After that we look in detail how Herodotus presents the beginning of the great conflict between Greece and Persian, and finish up with an overview of the various Greek philosophers.

If you're taking a class in Greek culture somewhere and need a little help, or if you are a motivated autodidact, I'm sure you'll find these lectures a good step forward in your understanding and appreciation of the world of the Greeks.

5 Stars  Very effective methodology to get you comfortable conversing in basic Greek which is the missing element in many Greek courses which design themselves to teach vocabulary by theme and grammatical structure without context in real speech. Would be invaluable if you were planning a trip to Greece and didn't want to be resort-bound due to language fears. Fantastic!

You learn by doing. This is particularly true for languages. That's why it's so important to practise what you're learning. In this course, you won't just watch lectures and do exercises, you'll practise in the lectures.

This course is for complete beginners and is mainly taught in English. There are four sections, and each section builds on the knowledge of the previous one:

1. Introduction and Alphabet – by the end of this section you’ll be able to produce the sounds that each letter in the Greek alphabet represents.

2. Letter Combinations and First Words – by the end of this section you’ll be able to read a few words in Greek.

3. Reading Names, Places, and Dishes – by the end of this section you’ll be able to read some names, places, and dishes in Greek.

4. Four Basic Conversations – by the end of this section you’ll be able to have four short conversations in Greek.

I use activities within the lectures to make the lessons as interactive as possible and include quizzes at the end of sections 1 to 3 so that you can check how much you’re learning.

If you want to learn a bit of Greek before you go on holiday to Greece or Cyprus, if you work with Greek people and want to impress them, or if you're embarking on an epic language learning journey, this is the course for you.

Ancient Greek Phonetics

In this course you will learn how to make an Ancient Greek text in the Attic dialect come alive.  You probably know the various lengths of the vowels in theory for example, but how do they really differ?  Maybe you also know in theory the rhythm of a poem (you can make out the prosody etc), but how do the syllables add up in practice?

Reading it aloud and with the right sound and length of the symbols makes all the difference.

If you want to understand deeply the Ancient Greek texts, or to perform them, this is the right course for you, as it is the only available method.

I will lead you through:

  • the length and the sound of the vowels
  • the sound of the diphthongs
  • the influence of the accents
  • the aspirate
  • the sound of all the consonants

There are a lot of examples and all the material is in downloadable pdf forms.

You must already be familiar with the Greek alphabet, not so much with the language though: if you don't know the words of the examples you can always find them in a dictionary.  This is not a course for learning the Ancient Greek language, but only about the sound of it.

The course includes:

  • an introduction where you learn a few things about the history of the Attic dialect and about the sources of our information
  • the sound and the length of the vowels
  • the 3 forms of accents
  • the aspirate
  • the sound of the diphthongs
  • all the consonants
  • an epilogue

The Letter of 2 John is a wonderful letter to study in depth. It is rather brief, it is enjoyable to read, and it is very interesting and informative. By means of videos and translation guides, you will receive a verse-by-verse translation and commentary of the Biblical Greek found in this letter. All of the vocabulary and grammatical concepts will be explained in full. There are also quizzes corresponding to each verse of the Letter. This is an amazing opportunity to study the Greek of the Bible verse-by-verse. Students: 29, Price: $19.99

Students: 29, Price:  Paid

This course teaches you how to pronounce Biblical Greek. It is designed for beginners as well as those who previously learned Greek pronunciation but need a refresher (or learned the so-called Erasmian Pronunciation). We will use Modern Greek Pronunciation to learn how to pronounce Biblical (or Koine) Greek. Modern Greek Pronunciation is the pronunciation closest to how the authors of the Greek New Testament spoke.

In about a dozen lessons, we will learn everything you need to know about how to pronounce the beautiful language of Biblical Greek. We will focus on a few letters at a time, learning how to pronounce them with confidence and accuracy. We will also include discussion of accent marks, vowels, consonants, diphthongs, and clusters of vowels and consonants.

As a result, by the time you finish this course, you will be able to say any word in Greek, whether in the Greek Bible (Old or New Testament), and you will also be able to say any word in Modern Greek. In this way, if you choose to travel to Greece one day, you will have learned the way locals say and pronounce Greek, which is closer to how the authors of the New Testament would have spoken Greek than the way it is often taught in seminaries and colleges.
