She has published articles in multiple trade journals and business magazines and is the award-winning author of Material Value: More Sustainable, Less Wasteful Manufacturing of Everything from Cell Phones to Cleaning Products.

Julia has led interactive recycling workshops in the Seattle area and online. She makes frequent presentations on writing and publishing as the leader of the Seattle chapter of the Nonfiction Authors Association.
